After much destruction during its history, notably during the Second World War, the city of “Beauvais” continues its reconstruction over the years. You can also see houses dating from the Middle Ages, relax during a visit or a concert at “La Maladrerie Saint Lazare”, typical hospitable architecture of the XII and XIII centuries. You can also stroll in the reconstructed city center with its small shops and cultural places. Experience the mythical “Saint-Pierre” Gothic cathedral, whose construction began in 1225 but is still unfinished. In summer, enjoy the 45-hectare body of water in the north of the city for swimming, practicing sports or taking a nap on the grass. With its 54,738 inhabitants, “Beauvais” is the city that attracts the most students of the department, notably thanks to its polytechnic institute “Lasalle Beauvais”.
